A plea for help.
The family of one of our students in the student ministry is in need of help. For over two years they have been living in a small apartment after losing their home and have kept most of their belongings in a storage center, paying storage which they can’t afford. They need some help getting those things out of storage by Saturday or they have to pay another month. The storage center is on 1960 and they live in Spring. I am unable to assist this weekend due to some prior commitments that can’t be changed. If you have a pick up truck and can help for a couple of hours it would be greatly appreciated! They also have a like new bedroom suite that will not fit in the apartment and are offering it to someone that might need it. Otherwise they will have to continue to pay storage on it. If you can help please let me know by this afternoon so I can pass the word along to the family. I will be glad to put you in contact with them. Thank you for your generosity and servant’s hearts.

He has battled with Rheumatoid Arthritis for several years and it has spread to his lungs. I owe much of who I am to these sweet, godly people. They live in CA.
After several years of waiting we now are able to record on CD the morning message. The first in the series of Desperate Households was recorded yesterday. It will take some time to get the “order” system down but if you would like a copy of the message yesterday please let me know and we will get a copy for you. We are asking $2 to help simply to help cover the cost of the CD’s labels and sleeves. CD’s given to our shut-ins will be at no cost. MP3's of the sermons will also be available here on the website.

I trust everyone is having a pleasant Friday. I wanted to update you on some prayer requests and give you a praise.
Jimmy Duke is fine but will not come home from the Hospital for another day. His lung doctor has released him but his heart doctor wants to keep him another day.
Roy Warwick is due to be home this afternoon. In fact, Delores is at home waiting for the van to deliver him.
Praise: As many of you know who keep up with the prayer requests and email devotions we have been praying about calling a new Student Minister. It appears the Lord has answered that prayer. I have spent a great deal of time with Phil Baker who currently serves at Memorial Drive Baptist Church. He is experienced in student ministry as well as worship and preaching. His full resume will be available for review this Sunday morning. The church will vote whether to call him on Sunday August 27. Phil’s plan is to be in the office somewhere around the week of September 11. This will be considered a full-time position. Please see the attachments to review the Student Minister position along with benefits and compensation.
As always, have a blessed day!

URGENT
PRAYER UPDATE
INTERNATIONAL MISSION BOARD
JULY 17, 2006
NORTHERN AFRICA AND THE MIDDLE EAST. International Mission Board personnel in the Middle East urged Southern Baptists to pray for peace in Lebanon, Israel and the entire region as it plunges closer to full-scale warfare. “We’re not here to take sides,” said John Brady, who leads Southern Baptist work in Northern Africa and the Middle East. “Our tasks are to pray and minister in the name of Jesus Christ, so one day the people of these troubled lands will know the Prince of Peace.” Currently, all Southern Baptist workers in the region are accounted for and safe, he said.
“The news gets worse each day as this conflict deepens,” Brady said. “We’re asking Southern Baptists to please take a moment to pray after any news update. Please pray for the peoples of this region … Each bit of news should be a nudge to a personal call to prayer.”
“Our folks are praying and staying in close contact with regional leadership,” Brady said of Southern Baptist workers in the region. “These are difficult days. Yet our work here, to quote the Apostle Paul, is to be a fragrance of life. In this part of the world where death is such a rampant thing, the fragrance of life from Christ is essential to bringing hope to these nations. Please pray that this fragrance will be real in all our lives and many will be drawn to the Prince of Peace.”
